At Jahorina Film Festival, Pale, near Sarajevo in beautiful Bosnia and Herzegovina, Harry Chapman picks up the “Golden Maple” for Best Documentary for his genre bender “Florian’s Last Climb”. A big thanks and hello to Mirko Despic and the rest of the festival team and to all the other locals and film makers who made the event so warmly memorable.
“Married to a Paedophile”, the groundbreaking documentary-drama production designed by Harold Chapman is being broadcast on Channel 4 tomorrow night, 3rd September at 9pm. The genre bending TV feature uses the audio of the real families of convicted child porn users but features full dramatisation. Actors including BAFTA nominee Sinead Keanan, Nicholas Gleaves and Abigail McKern lip synch seamlessly with the real life material in a style reminiscent of Indie hits “The Arbor” and “Notes on Blindness”.
“Florian’s Last Climb” has just been accepted to screen at the Jahorina International Film Festival which focuses on documentaries and films with an ecological perspective. It takes place in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina between 26-29 September and I am hugely excited that the festival has invited me to attend for the duration. With Prifest, Kosovo already in the bag, “FLC” is looking like a hit in the Balkans!
I am delighted to announce that “Florian’s Last Climb” has been selected to screen at the Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival in Tegernsee, Bavaria, set in the Bavarian Alps, on the shore of Lake Tegernsee. This is the film’s German premiere and its premiere in a mountain film festival – a double whammy for a film concerned with mountain climbing and shot in German. It is also not far from von Liechtenstein’s hometown of Innsbruck! In lieu of the great man himself, I have been invited to attend the festival which runs from the 17th to the 21st October.
