“Florian’s Last Climb” has just been selected and screened at the Trujillo Independent Film Festival in Peru (Ficit Peru) which ran from 27-30th September (finishing today!) To the bamboozlement of programmers generally, the film sneaked into the “Experimental” category… It’s my aim to get the film selected in all three categories of drama, documentary and experimental. Only drama to go… I think…
I’m delighted to announce that “Florian’s Last Climb” has been nominated for Best Documentary at the Minikino Film Week – Bali International Short Film Festival – running next month between 5th and 12th of October. The film will be screening as part of the “When you Believe” programme and will show at the following venues:
RUMAH FILM SANG KARSA, Saturday 5/10, at 21:00:00 WITA / GMT +8
MASH DENPASAR, Tuesday 8/10, at 16:00:00 WITA / GMT +8
The festival has kindly offered to host me for the duration of the festival but alas work and other commitments will keep me home. I wish the festival the very best for what sounds like an amazing experience.
I’m excited to announce that “Florian’s Last Climb” has been selected to screen at the 5th Verashort – Veracruz Short Film Festival, in the Mexican city of Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico. News came in early last week and in fact the screening took place on Thursday 22nd August; just a couple of days ago. News of any awards has not yet reached me…
From semi-finalist a month or two back, “Florian’s Last Climb” has been awarded a laurel for Official Selection at the Minikino Film Week 5, Bali International Film Festival, Indonesia which takes place this October. Many thanks to the festival for accepting the film and for inviting me out to attend. go to story
Some great news in – “Florian’s Last Climb” has received a Special Festival Mention at the 8th Bangalore Short Film Festival, India. Thank you so much to the festival for selecting our humble offering, and for the judges for further acknowledging the work. The great Werner Herzog may have once said that “prizes are for dogs and horses”, but it’s certainly no bad thing to be occasionally recognised, especially for the creative punt “FLC” was.
