“Florian’s Last Climb” selected to screen at the Mountain Festival of Poprad, Slovakia

I’m excited to announce that “Florian’s Last Climb” has been selected to screen at the 28th International Festival of Mountain Films, Poprad. The festival takes place in the picturesque city of Poprad situated at the foot of the HIgh Tatra Mountains in beautiful Slovakia. The festival have very generously invited director Harry Chapman along as its quest when it takes place in October.

“Florian’s Last Climb” has been selected to play in the documentary section of the Canal de Panama International Film Festival in the Central American country of Panama. Due to quarantine restrictions imposed by the Covid pandemic the festival will play on-line this year between 13-16th August and I believe all titles listed in the programme will be available for public view during these dates.https://festivalcanpan.wixsite.com/canpan/short-film-2020

Harold Chapman receives Best Director for “Florian’s Last Climb” at Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival

At the closing ceremony of the Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival a few days ago, Harry Chapman was awarded Best Director in the Documentary Section for “Florian’s Last Climb”. Many thanks to the jury and of course to my wonderful cast and crew without whom the film may have persisted only as a dream.

As we begin to emerge from lockdown and look round at a world changed, “Florian’s Last Climb” continues its rather astonishing little run in the Sub Continent with an Official Selection at the Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival, India. We will always need stories, especially when times are tough.

It’s small shakes in a world in crisis but at least a glimmer of sunnier times – with film festivals shutting their doors to protect staff and audiences – “Florian’s Last Climb” was screened at the Indian Film Festival in Hyderabad earlier this month and picked up the Jury Award for Best Documentary. Let’s hope there are good times ahead of us in the world and UK film industries after the tough times of the present.
