”Invisible” has been chosen for Official Selection at Taos Shortz Film Festival in New Mexico. The festival runs from the 1st to the 4th of March, 2012 and the jury has judges from Sundance and Telluride including the great John Huston’s widow, Kathy Fitzgerald.
”Stranded”, the short documentary I shot last year with Jonathan Bower and a group of London’s homeless through Open Cinema, is screening at the Brighton Documentary Festival in March. Dates tbc.
”Sweep” which was selected to play at the British Urban Film Festival last October, is now being shown in a three minute version on the BUFF website centering on the very tattooed and inimitable Toby Dobbs.
”Invisible” has just been accepted for Official Selection at the Bermuda International Film Festival which is another Academy Award recognised festival. The festival takes place between 16th and 22nd of March, 2012. Maybe we didn’t get the BAFTA, but this is another potential crack at the Oscars!
Alas “Invisible” fell at the last hurdle and was not nominated for a BAFTA in the end (results were announced on the 17th). Of course the Long List status still stands. Thanks to all for the kind words and encouragement. As Nathaniel Martello-White (Victor in the film) said to me yesterday, “We’ll just have to wait for the Best Film Nomination when the feature’s done!”
